ATMUS Entertainment has acquired the theatrical distribution rights in USA for the eagerly awaited Super Star movie Kochadaiyaan for a record price. It is said to be the highest price ever paid for any Tamil movie in USA. ATMUS entertainment has also bagged the rights for the Telugu version - Vikram Simha for this region. The movie features Superstar Rajinikanth and Deepika Padukone, music scored by AR Rahman, directed by Soundarya Rajinikanth and written by KS Ravikumar.

Kochadaiyaan is India's first performance capture photorealistic film shot with state of the art motion capture technology in 3D, same as that used in films such as Avatar and Avengers, but with real life characters. In fact the same team that did the 3D for Avengers is working on Kochadaiyaan.

Expectations for Kochadaiyaan are sky high since this is Rajini's first film after a long gap due to his illness. The superstar's last outing "Endhiran" (Robot) was released in 2010 and it was one of the highest-grossing Indian films. It is based on the late-19th century Neuschwanstein Castle, with some French inspirations. The Castle Opened in July 17, 1955, the castle is the oldest of all Disney castles. Though it reaches a height of only 77 feet (23 m), it was designed to appear taller through a process known as forced perspective; design elements are larger at the foundation and smaller at the turrets. Sometimes swans will swim in the moat, so the WDI workers lined the moat with junipers. Swans will not eat junipers. The castle initially featured an empty upper level that was never intended to house an attraction, but Walt Disney was not satisfied with what he viewed as wasted space, and challenged his Imagines to find some use for the space.

Beginning April 29, 1957, visitors were able to walk through the castle and view several dioramas depicting the story of Sleeping Beauty. The original dioramas were designed in the style of Eyvind Earle, production designer for Disney's 1959 film Sleeping Beauty, and were then redone in 1977 to resemble the window displays on Main Street, USA. Unlike previous incarnations, visitors who are unable to climb stairs or navigate the passageways of the Castle can still experience the walk-through virtually in a special room on the Castle's ground floor. This room is lavishly themed, and presents the closed-captioned CGI walk-through recreation on a high-definition TV. This same virtual recreation is included on the Sleeping Beauty 50th Anniversary Platinum Edition DVD. It is a common myth that the Disney family coatof arms hangs above the archway to the castle. The Disney family coat of arms is composed of three Fleur De liswhereas the coat of arms on the castle is three lions pass-ant in pale. The origins and meaning of the coat of arms on Sleeping Beauty Castle is unknown at this time. It is known that the coat of arms was not originally on the castle but was placed there sometime between June 1965 and July 1965.

Double portfolio in Asia-Pacific by 2016 - Marriott International

Beijing – Marriott International expects to more than double the size of its portfolio in Asia-Pacific from currently 132 hotels to 265 properties by 2016 with a pipeline of signed and approved deals now totaling 143.

Simon Cooper, Marriott International's president and managing director in Asia, said: "We have seen great growth across our portfolio and expect to be launching new brands in the region soon, with the introduction of Fairfield by Marriott in India next year and the launch of our EDITION brand in Bangkok in 2014."

In India, 23 hotels with Marriott International's brands are already under construction and the company is likely to grow from 15 hotels to 50-plus hotels in the next few years.

In China, with 127 open and signed hotels, the company expects to open on average one hotel per month for the next five years and to cover 24 of the 34 Chinese provinces, up from 11 now.

The Royal Gorge Bridge is one of the tourist attraction near Canon City, Colorado, within a 360-acre (150 ha) theme park. The bridge deck hangs 955 feet (291 m) above the Arkansas River, and held the record of highest bridge in the world from 1929 until 2003, when it was surpassed by the Beipanjiang River 2003 Bridge in China. It is a suspension bridge with a main span of 938 feet (286 m). The bridge is 1,260 feet(384 m) long and 18 feet (5.5 m) wide, with a wooden walkway with 1292 planks. The bridge is suspended from towers that are 150 feet (46 m) high.

The bridge was constructed in Six months, between June 5, 1929, and late November 1929, as a toll bridge, at a cost of $350,000. It was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. The bridge was not constructed for Transportation purposes; instead, it was built with the intent that it serve as a tourist attraction, and has continued to be one of the most-visited tourist attractions in Colorado since its construction. The road is designated as Fremont County Road 3A. The Royal Gorge Route Railroad runs under the bridge along the base of Royal Gorge.

Measuring from deck to the river below, the Royal Gorge Bridge held the Record of highest bridge in the world from 1929 to 2003, when it was surpassed by the Beipanjiang River 2003 Bridge. It is still the highest bridge in North America. The cable-stayed Viaduc de Millau, completed in December 2004, is the tallest bridge in the world, at 1,118 feet (341 m), measured from the ground to the top of the bridge piers. However, its deck is only 885 feet (270 m) above the River Tarn. The height of the Royal Gorge Bridge makes it an attractive spot for suicide by jumping; however, park and security personnel constantly patrol the bridge in order to prevent such suicides.

Modernization efforts, including an ambitious plan to level the entire island and construct shell-proof underground magazines and tunnels, were undertaken between 1870 and 1876 but never completed. Instead, the army switched the focus of its plans for Alcatraz from coastal defense to detention, a task for which it was well suited because of its isolation. In 1867, a brick jailhouse was built and in 1868, Alcatraz was officially designated a long-term detention facility for military prisoners. Among those incarcerated at Alcatraz were some Hopi Native American men in the 1870s.

USA Travel Guides: Faneuil Hall Marketplace is also called Quincy Market, now it is one of the most popular Boston shopping destinations. A fun mixture of unique shops, restaurants, traditional food stalls, and national brand stores give shoppers and diners plenty of choices. But Faneuil Hall Marketplace is much more than just a trendy shopping complex it's Boston's oldest market area, dating back to 1742 and rooted in a clash between wealthy businessman / developer Peter Faneuil and what he considered to be a regarded as a tight-fisted, repressive, post-Puritan city government regime.

Peter Faneuil amassed a reasonably large fortune as a merchant, ship builder, businessman, slave trader, and occasional smuggler, he inherited an even larger fortune from his wealthy uncle in 1738, making him one of the richest men in America. With all that money under his control, Faneuil naturally started looking for ways to spend it. The building's construction began in 1740, and took 2 years to complete. Smybert's plans included an open ground floor with arcades, perfect for a covered meat and produce market. A large assembly room occupied the second floor.

An 80-pound gold-gilded copper grasshopper weather vane, created by Shem Drowne in 1742 based on a similar grasshopper weather vane on top of the London Royal Exchange, crowns the top of Faneuil Hall's belfry. A steeplejack stole this weather vane in 1974, planning to hold it for ransom, but the police recovered it a few days later. Peter Faneuil died only 6 months after the building was completed, and the marketplace came to be called Faneuil Hall in his honor. After fire destroyed Faneuil Hall Marketplace in 1761, it was rebuilt, and then enlarged by famous Boston architect Charles Bulfinch in 1806. He doubled the width of the building and added a third floor, while managing to retain its Georgian columns.

You may be wondering how a marketplace ended up on Boston's Freedom Trail. Due to Faneuil Hall's second floor assembly room, and the patriotic events that unfolded there. Because of its size, the assembly hall became one of the Colonists' favorite spots, along with the Old State House and the Old South Meeting House, for fiery speeches advocating liberty as conflicts with England heated up. Nearby taverns, some of which you can still visit today, no doubt contributed to the speakers' fervor.

USA Travel & Tourism Guides: Statue of Lafayette in Washington D.C is a seven acre park across from the White House is named in honor of Marquis De Lafayette, the French General who befriended George Washington and fought in the Revolutionary War. The statue of Lafayette is located in the southeast corner of Lafayette Park. Lafayette Square was originally part of the White House grounds, but became separated from the Executive Mansion in 1804 when President Thomas Jefferson built Pennsylvania Avenue through the park. The park’s name was changed to Lafayette Square in 1824 to honor the Marquis De Lafayette.

In the park are five statues. The central statue, by Clark Mills, is identical to one in New Orleans. It was erected in 1853. The other statues, one at each corner of the square, were added later. Each one is of an action pose of a foreign participant in the Revolutionary War. From France, looking oh-so-detached, is the General Marquis Gilbert de Lafayette; also from France is Major General Comte Jean de Rochambeau, pointing the way south; from Poland is Thaddeus Koscuiszko; and from Prussia is Major General Baron Frederich Wilhelm von Steuben. Over the years, the park has been used as a graveyard, slave market, zoo and a race track. It took its present form with landscaping performed in the 1930s. The square was designating a National Historic Landmark in 1970.
